Accredited Business Accountant
The Accredited in Accountancy / Accredited Business Accountant® (ABA) credential is earned by successfully completing a uniform, national examination offered twice yearly, the second Friday of May and December, in testing locations nationwide. The exam tests the technical proficiency of candidates in financial accounting, compilation services, managerial accounting, taxation, business law and ethics.
A review course is sold by ACAT's affiliated organization, the National Society of Accountants. Many of NSA's affiliated state membership organizations also offer review course seminars.
For the benefit of college-level teachers of accounting - and their students – the Council's Accredited in Accounting / Accredited Business Accountant® credential (ABA) can be earned in time to add a valuable career-related credential to a graduating student's resume.
And, for assessment purposes, some accounting instructors have added a capstone course to their schools' accounting curricula, centering around a review for the ACAT accountancy exam. For names of instructors, contact ACAT.
For the benefit of practitioners - and their clients - in local and regional public practice, the Council's accountancy accreditation Accredited in Accountancy/Accredited Business Accountant® (ABA) is the standard for excellence.
